Super Saturday  

The 2nd Saturday of each month, at 10:00 a.m., drop in for a family friendly, fun-filled event. November 11 is dedicated to a seasonal craft made from nature’s beautiful, bountiful and glorious fall leaf! Craft and go, or stay a while to enjoy the simplicity of board games, cider and camaraderie with family and friends.  


Marine Biology: A Shedd Aquarium High School Learning Experience with Danika Steggall

Tuesday, December 12 at 6:30 P.M.

Discover the impressive educational adventure that one local high school student had this past summer. Join Danika Steggall at the library on Tuesday, December 12 at 6:30 P.M. as she shares a travelogue of her trip to the Bahamas with the Shedd Aquarium's exclusive High School Marine Biology Program. Living aboard the Shedd's research vessel, Ms. Steggall was able to explore the aquatic life in the Bahamas, research scientific techniques, and learn about environmental issues during her experience as a marine science researcher. Highlights include a visit to the Bimini Shark Lab, swimming with sharks, and working with the Dolphins Communication Project.

Bits & Bots Coding Challenge

Wednesday, December 6th at 3:45 P.M.

Venture forth on a coding quest with CODECOMBAT. Learn programming with a multiplayer live coding strategy game for beginners. Learn Python or JavaScript as you defeat ogres, solve mazes, and level up.

Get to know our Ozobot and Sphero programmable robots through a guided exploration of these Makerspace items from the library’s circulating collection.  Enjoy robotic challenges, coding and games.

This is a tweens-only program (middle school students).
