Breast Cancer Awareness

Thursday, January 4 at 6:30 P.M.

Be proactive about your health. Join us on Thursday, January 4 at 6:30 P.M. at the Ripon Public Library to learn about factors linked to breast cancer and how to reduce your cancer risk. Participants will gain knowledge about the latest screening recommendations and how to advocate for care. This talk will emphasize the issues and steps women face prior to breast cancer diagnosis:

  • Signs and symptoms of breast cancer
  • Managing abnormal screenings
  • Where to find more information and resources

Freebies available for the first 25 participants.

Presented by Mary Lyke, recently retired Ripon Area School District Nurse, and Melanie Simpkins, Public Health Nurse/ Health Education and Work and Wellness Coordinator with the Green Lake County Health Unit.

Tips for Healthy Holiday Eating - Brenda Block

Do you desire becoming healthier but find yourself freely indulging in all the sweets of the holiday season only to feel frustrated and guilty afterwards? Join Brenda Block, Integrative Nutritional Health Coach, at the Ripon Public Library on Thursday, December 14 at 6:30 P.M. to learn some simple tips to maintain your health while still enjoying the spirit of the season. Sample delicious treats made healthier and leave with strategies to keep your health goals on track!

The 2nd Saturday of each month, at 10:00 a.m., drop in for a family friendly, fun-filled event. November 11 is dedicated to a seasonal craft made from nature’s beautiful, bountiful and glorious fall leaf! Craft and go, or stay a while to enjoy the simplicity of board games, cider and camaraderie with family and friends.
