9:00-10:30 a.m. Yoga in the Prairie | Ceresco Prairie Conservancy

10:30-11:30 a.m. Prairie Walk | Ceresco Prairie Conservancy
Learn about prairie, oak savannah and wetlands habitat during a prairie walk with Emeritus Professor of Biology and Director of the Ceresco Prairie Conservancy Skip Wittler. Meet at the prairie entrance in the back of Willmore Center parking lot. Rain location: Wilmore Center.
10:30-11:30 a.m. Kids Prairie Walk | Ceresco Prairie Conservancy
Assistant Professor of Psychology Julia Manor and Ripon College students will lead a treasure hunt for kids and families in Ceresco Prairie. Meet at the prairie entrance in the back of Willmore Center parking lot. Rain location: Wilmore Center.
1-2 p.m. Wildflower Walk | South Woods (Hosted by South Woods Park Association)
Join South Woods Park Association on their annual wildflower walk in the woods led by Emeritus Professor of Biology Skip Wittler. Meet at South Woods Union Street entrance.
1-2:30 p.m Pollinators Love Native Plants | Ripon Public Library - Silver Creek Room
Enjoy a two-part session, with Lisa Reas, environmental consultant and owner of Reas Environmental in Green Lake, WI.
1-1:45 p.m. | Lisa’s passion for native plants and their pollinators combine into an incredibly informative presentation that will help attendees choose the best plants for attracting an abundance of native pollinators to their garden and yard.
1:45-2:30 p.m. | Features hands-on learning and includes plant giveaways not to be missed!
1-2:00 p.m. Story Walk | Northwestern Trail adjacent to Ripon Public Library Parking*
Children’s librarian Linda DeCramer leads a pollinator story walk featuring Helen Frost’s Step Gently Out on the Northwestern Trail. This out and back adventure will conclude with “Pollinator Yoga” led by Sage Julian. Yoga mats provided. Rain location: Ripon Public Library.
2-4:30 p.m. The Art of Plants & Pollinators | Ripon Public Library*
Collage! Anyone can create! This collaborative art project, with deceptively simple repurposed paper and glue as its mediums, will result in the creation of a stunning piece depicting plants and pollinators. The completed collage will be presented during the evening reception at the Treasury and later displayed throughout the community.
Face-Painting! - Kids choose their favorite pollinator, artists paint it on their body.
2-4:30 p.m. Plants & Pollinators Discovery for Kids | Ripon Public Library*
Kids of all ages will love these pollinator discovery stations created by outdoor education enthusiast, Carissa Sorenson, and student from Ripon College’s Presidential Leadership Program. Drop-in stations throughout the library offer dynamic hands-on and play-based learning and craft activities. Here children can delight in and discover the beauty, mystery and importance of pollinators. Kids will acquire information and inspiration for supporting pollinator habitat.
3-4:30 p.m. Beekeeper Presentation | Ripon Public Library - Silver Creek Room
East Central Wisconsin Beekeepers Association’s Patti Ingram brings beekeeping to Ripon! Cultivation of bees is an integral part of the American landscape since the 1600’s. In this interactive session, Patti will discuss bee biology and the life of the bee as well as display beekeeping equipment. Bee- and plant-themed giveaways included!
5-7 p.m. Power of Pollinators Party! | The Treasury 114 Watson Street
Celebrate the day’s events at the historic Treasury building! A myriad of local creators will share their music, art, thoughts and creative writing related to pollinators and the power of each person, individually and collectively, to create positive change. Enjoy Ripon College students’ “Landscapes” art exhibit; special music featuring the Ripon College Chamber Singers directed by John Hughes; an original song co-written with local elementary school students; unveiling of collaborative art; and more. Cash bar and complimentary light refreshments will be available.
10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Pollinator Exploration | Watson Street
Local businesses will feature pollinator inspired products. Detailed listings will be available on the day of the event.
*These kid-friendly offerings allow parents and caregivers to attend concurrent adult sessions knowing their child is simultaneously enjoying enrichment activities. Kids, age 5-12 years, may participate independently. Younger children are welcome and encouraged to attend with adult supervision.
