Adult Crafting Hour - Monotype Printmaking
The third Thursday of the month, at 6 P.M., is dedicated to an adults-only craft time with projects inspired by the online idea-treasure trove known as Pinterest.
This month, learn how to form a permanent gelatin printing plate at home during a short tutorial and then experiment with printmaking techniques on the library’s premade printing plates. Beautiful multilayered monotypes can be created using this simple process that is ideal for mixed media art projects. This month’s event could not be made possible without the generous co-sponsorship of Security Finance of Ripon and the Friends of the Ripon Public Library.
Adult Game Night - Featuring 7 Wonders & Expansions
Tuesday, December 15th @ 6 P.M.
About the Game:
You are the leader of one of the 7 great cities of the Ancient World. Gather resources, develop commercial routes, and affirm your military supremacy. Build your city and erect an architectural wonder which will transcend future times.
In essence, 7 Wonders is a card development game. Some cards have immediate effects, while others provide bonuses or upgrades later in the game. Some cards provide discounts on future purchases. Some provide military strength to overpower your neighbors and others give nothing but victory points. Each card is played immediately after being drafted, so you'll know which cards your neighbor is receiving and how his choices might affect what you've already built up. Cards are passed left-right-left over the three ages, so you need to keep an eye on the neighbors in both directions.

Keeping Our Kids Safe Online & On Their Mobile Devices
Wednesday, December 2nd @ 1:00 P.M AND Thursday, December 3rd at 6 P.M.
Being online has become a daily part of living, but do you know how to keep yourself and your kids safe online? Meredith Birmingham, the Prevention Educator at ASTOP Sexual Abuse Center, will be on hand at the Ripon Public Library on Wednesday, December 2nd at 1:00 P.M. and Thursday, December 3rd at 6 P.M. to answer questions and inform parents on how to keep kids safe online and on their mobile devices. Learn about the secret dangers of ghost apps – disguised as legitimate programs that allow users to hide inappropriate content on their phones – and other similar programs that are easily accessible online. Know the pitfalls of having the web at your kids’ fingertips and learn how to talk to them about internet safety. This program is free and open to the public.
