Friends of the Library Used Book Sale

The next Friends book sale will be held April 12-14, 2012.

A selection of used books is always available for browsing in the lobby. Stop by the Friends Book Sale Shelf today!

A majority of funds raised by the Friends of the Library comes from their used book sales.  Donations of used books pour in throughout the year, and twice yearly the Friends hold a used book sale in the library's lower level.  The next sale will be held April 12-14.

Thursday, April 12: Preview Sale from 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Get a leg up on the competition by attending the Friends of the Library used book Preview Sale!  Free for Friends members to attend ($3 entrance fee for all others), the preview sale will let you browse and purchase any of the books available.  The sale will then be open free of charge on Friday and Saturday.

Friday, April 13: Book Sale area open from Noon - 7:30 pm

The library might close at 6:00, but the book sale will remain open until 7:30 for anyone looking for a great deal on a gently-used book.  Come back tomorrow for even more deals!

Saturday, April 14: Book Sale area open from 10:30 am - 2:30 pm

The Friends of the Library semi-annual used book sale continues.  This is your last chance to stock up until the October sale!  Because of the large volumes of book donations received throughout the year, most - if not all - books which don't sell will be recycled after the sale, and will not be here again in October.

Year-Round Book Sale Display

For patrons who just can't get enough of the Friends of the Library book sales, or who miss the semi-annual sale, fear not! A selection of book sale items is now on display near the library's front desk - and it's open year-round!  Hardcover books are just $1 and paperbacks are 2 / $1.  As with the regular book sales, all proceeds benefit the Friends of the Library, a nonprofit organization whose fundraising activities help make many library programs possible.

Computer Recycling Fundraiser

This just in - now, you can get rid of your old computer, support the Friends of the Library, and save some money all at the same time!  Thanks to a generous service donation from Ripon Technology, LLC, you can obtain recycling tickets for computers, monitors and printers for a donation of just $5 (about half the usual cost of recycling) to the Friends of the Library for each item.

Tickets are available now at the Ripon Public Library.  Items to be recycled, with accompanying tickets, may then be dropped off at Ripon Technology between November 23 through December 4.  Each computer, monitor and/or printer requires a separate $5 donation; other computer accessories, such as keyboards, mice and speakers, will be accepted at no extra charge with at least one paid-for item.

For more information, please contact Ben Sprague at the Ripon Public Library (748-6160)
