Dream Big, READ Summer Reading Program

All programs are FREE to attend, and registration is not required unless otherwise noted by”*. “ Participation in the reading & reward portion of the summer programming does require a quick visit to the library to register. June 14 @ 10 a.m. Starry Spirals Community Art project Create water colored, spiral stars to be installed in the Starry Starry Night entry. Dress for mess!

June 19 @ 10 a.m. Let’s Make-up! Actors from Missoula Children’s Theater present a make-up workshop. Several attendees will be used as models.

June 23 National Wildlife Federation’s “Great American Campout!” On the Village Green (corner of Watson & Seward Streets)

  • 6:30 p.m. Set-up & Outdoor Games (Bring your own everything—tents, sleeping bags, food, water etc. Porta Potties available.)
  • 7:30 p.m. Ken Lonnquist & Co. in concert. Nationally acclaimed singer/songwriter wowscrowds of all ages with his exuberantly humorous original songs. 

June 26 @ 10 a.m. DREAM BIG Adventure & Craft for Ages 4 & up.

June 28 @ 3:30 p.m. In Capable Hands! Dynamic husband/wife duo, Steve Russell and Kobi Shaw, amazes with out-of-this-world juggling stunts and comedy.

July 3 @ 10 a.m. Interactive Movie “UP” Audience members participate in special effects while viewing. Props provided. Don’t miss this hysterically fun way to enjoy a classic and ground-breaking film.

July 10 @ 10 a.m. Able the Dancing Chihuahua Able freestyles with his partner, world renowned dog behavior expert, Amy Ammen. In his flamboyant costume, Able “cuts a rug,” spinning, jumping, and weaving to his favorite up-tempo tunes.

July 11 @ 2:30 p.m. Circle of Sound Students of the Green Lake Festival of Music’s chamber music camp, perform in the round, under the instruction of world class musicians, Anthea Kreston & Jason Duckles. Their specialty is bringing HUMOR and accessibility to classical music for all ages.

July 17 @ 10 a.m. DREAM BIG Adventure & Craft for Ages 4 & up.

July 24 @ 10 a.m. DREAM BIG Adventure & Craft for Ages 4 & up.

*July 31 @ 6:30 p.m. Star Lab Explore the Night Sky with Paul Kinzer, amateur astronomer. From inside a portable planetarium visit over a thousand stars, the Earth, moon, planets, and various deep-space objects! Space is limited.

* Wednesdays @ 1-2:30 p.m. June 20—July 27 (except July 4) Read to Biscuit! Biscuit is a R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dog) Therapy certified miniature dachshund who loves to listen to and support emergent readers.

The annual Summer Reading Program is funded by the Friends of the Ripon Public Library, and isintended to promote literacy, the joy of reading, and support the quest for knowledge at all ages & stages of life.
