Mom's and daughters who enjoy reading and want to share the experience are invited to participate in a newly formed Mother & Daughter book discussion. Hosted monthly, by a different Mom/daughter couple, the third meeting will be hosted by Callista & Linda DeCramer at the Ripon Public Library on Sunday, March 30th from 2-3:30 p.m. In addition to the discussion, a craft and snacks will be included.
The book title for this discussion is "A Drowned Maiden's Hair : a melodrama" by Laura Amy Schlitz. The main character, eleven-year-old Maud, is an orphan at a 20th century asylum, who seems to find her fair share of trouble. Therefore, she's delighted when the three elderly Hawthorne sisters adopt her. Suddenly she has the luxury of new clothes, running water, and good food. But why do the sisters hide her away?
Copies of the book can be obtained through the Ripon Public Library. Please RSVP and make book requests to Linda DeCramer by calling 748-6160 or email .
