Next book sale: April 15-17, 2010
A majority of funds raised by the Friends of the Library comes from their used book sales. Donations of used books pour in throughout the year, and twice yearly the Friends hold a used book sale in the library's lower level. The next sale will be held during National Library Week in April, 2010. Sale dates and times will be as follows (below the break):
April 15: Preview Night from 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Get a leg up on the competition by attending the Friends of the Library used book sale Preview Night! Free for Friends members to attend ($3 entrance fee for all others), the preview night will let you browse and purchase any of the books available. The sale will then be open free of charge on Friday and Saturday, all in conjunction with National Library Week.
April 16: Book Sale area open from Noon - 7:30 pm
The library might close at 6:00, but the book sale will remain open until 7:30 for anyone looking for a great deal on a gently-used book. Come back tomorrow for even more deals!
April 17: Book Sale area open from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
The Friends of the Library semi-annual used book sale continues. This is your last chance to stock up until the October sale! Because of the large volumes of book donations received throughout the year, most - if not all - books which don't sell will be recycled after the sale, and will not be here again in October.
Framed Photo Art Auction
In addition to the book sale, a silent auction will be held for a framed photo-art print by library staff photographer Ben Sprague. All proceeds from the sale of the print will be donated to the Friends of the Library. The silent auction will end at the close of the book sale on Saturday, April 17, at 3:00 p.m. If not present at the close of the auction, the winning bidder will be notified by phone or email.
Donations for the Used Book Sales:
Donations for the Used Book Sales are accepted throughout the year and can be left in the book sale donation bin, just inside the library's front entrance. We cannot accept moldy/mildewed books, encyclopedias or textbooks.
